The popularity of the Cape Town Jazz Festival has grown enormously since it first began in the early 1990s. Now ranked as one of the best festivals in the world, it boasts over forty acts playing on multiple stages. This festival will thrill jazz music fans with performances by world class musicians. Past performers include Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Flames, Esperanza Spalding, and Lisa Bauer, just to name a few participants in the eclectic line up. This festival is sure to hit all the right notes!

From the beginning, attracting a mere six thousand music lovers in the year 2000, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival has grown to become the defining music event on the continent. And with an audience now 34 000 strong, the festival’s impact goes way beyond the performance arenas.

Multiple Grammy winner and platinum-selling vocalist James Ingram headlines next year’s Cape Town International Jazz Festival. He leads a mix of international musicians, new artists and old favourites who will play on five stages at the CTICC.

This year’s the community free concert, part of the build up to the 13th Annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival, will again takes place on Green Market Square, on Wednesday, March 28, and will showcase some of the international and local acts scheduled to perform at the weekend. This well-attended event will features some of the top headliners that will also be performing at the Jazz Festival.

The musical and training workshops offered at the festival are yet another endorsement of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival’s commitment to developing not only the industry, but the community as well.
