- Most Craft Markets will not accept credit cards
- VAT or Value Added Tax is currently set at 14% in South Africa. As guests to the country you will be charged tax upon the purchase of items but you will be able to claim the VAT back provided that your purchases exceed R250 in value. To do so, you must present the tax invoice, your passport and the items you have purchased at either the airport, harbour or at a customs office. Please note that the charge will not apply to goods purchased in a market.
