Volunteering Adventure: Lion Outreach Project

Duration: 28 day(s) - Location: Winelands

This farm is situated in the beautiful part of Cape Town called the Winelands. If you have a passion for lions then get involved here. This project is a sanctuary for captive-born predators. This haven for lions provides these animals in distress with wonderful care, and they are kept safe and free from abuse and persecution. Please note that no physical contact will be allowed with the lions as we promote the wildlife conservation and therefore the safe-keeping and dignity of these predators.

Itinerary

Duties of the volunteer can include the following:

- Learning to care for lions in a holistic way
- Assisting with preparation of meals
- Decoration and setting up of lion camps
- Fencing maintenance
- Daily monitoring of animal behavior
- Cleaning of project site
- Maintenance of wetlands


Participant guidelines

Price Includes:

- Transport to and from Cape Town International Airport on the commencing date and last day of the tour
- Self-catering accommodation in log-cabin on the farm 
- Weekly trips to nearest village for shopping
- 4 day tour of  Western Cape
- Welcome supper and orientation
